A hard cap would punish value creation and be easier to evade than targeted taxes and stronger labor protections.

A hard income cap would distort incentives, drive capital and talent offshore, and is far harder to administer than a wage floor, while doing little to directly raise the well-being of those at the bottom.

Capping income or wealth reduces the financial incentives that drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.
