Treating personal data as ownable property gives people legal leverage to control, withhold, or be compensated for information that companies currently monetize without meaningful consent.

Legal ownership gives individuals the fundamental right to control, monetize, and protect their own digital identity.

Property rights would make privacy tradable instead of protected as a baseline human right.
